Pilates Body Awareness

Nervous-System-Informed Pilates

Feel safe in your body. Build strength from within.

Welcome to a supportive approach to Pilates where you are encouraged to slow down, listen to your body and move in a way that feels right for you.

Physical, emotional and mental stress can affect the nervous system and influence how comfortable, confident or safe we feel in movement. My classes draw on trauma-sensitive principles to create a calm, welcoming environment where you can reconnect with your body without pressure or judgement.

There is no pushing, striving or expectation to perform. You will be supported to meet your body where it is, explore movement at your own pace and gradually build strength, mobility, balance and confidence.

Through Mindful Movement You Can Learn To:

  • Feel more comfortable and confident in your body
  • Develop strength and mobility at your own pace
  • Improve balance, coordination and body awareness
  • Listen and respond to your body’s signals
  • Support your body to move well as you age

These classes are not about achieving the perfect movement. They are about creating a safe and supportive foundation from which your body can move, strengthen and grow.

Meet your body where it is and allow it to become your guide and teacher.

About Desrae – Your Pilates Instructor

I am a BASI-qualified Comprehensive Pilates instructor with an extensive background in body-based counselling and therapies. I bring a compassionate understanding of how our life experiences can influence the body, nervous system and movement.

My approach is grounded in helping women feel safe and supported as they develop strength, mobility and confidence. I believe movement does not need to be forced. When we learn to listen to the body and work with it, movement can become a source of connection, trust and wellbeing.
